Berkeley support St Giles Food Pantry

Last month, The Berkeley Foundation was delighted to support St Giles Food Pantry, which helps local people dealing with food insecurity.

St Giles Trust is a charity that works with people who are facing homelessness and long-term unemployment, helping them build a better future and avoid the risks of violence and exploitation.

Berkeley have been working in partnership with St Giles since September last year, supporting their school outreach and direct intervention work in Southwark and Newham. This has included taking part in fundraising, events and volunteering. You can read more about the partnership here.

Our day began with a lovely cup of tea and a freshly baked croissant at the Brewbird Café in Peckham – a welcoming and friendly café that offers fresh new opportunities to people who need help to find employment, with 10% of the proceeds going to charity.

We then assisted with loading and delivery of a variety of pantry items to the pantry in Camberwell, where local people come and collect their food.

Volunteering with St Giles showed us first-hand the fantastic work they do every day to make a big difference in the community. To find out more – including how you can support – please visit their website.

We look forward to continuing our support for the community over the coming months. Please do get in touch with the team via the details below if you’ve any comments/questions at this stage.

You’re also welcome to stop by our Consultation Hub (Unit 15A of the Aylesham Centre) on Tuesdays (1pm-5pm) and Fridays (9am-1pm). We hope to see you soon!
