Over the last 3 years we have been working with the community on the proposed redevelopment of the Aylesham Centre, Peckham and have engaged several youth charities and groups. At Berkeley Homes, we are keen to continue supporting the local community and ensure that the next generation has the opportunity to benefit from our investment in the area.
We have facilitated walk n talk sessions with Bradfield Youth Club and the Damilola Taylor Centre, workshops with Grove Vale Youth Club to discuss safety and opportunities for young people in the development and attended and hosted Career Fairs in various schools in the borough and Southwark College.
We are now excited to host ‘What’s your Story’ in partnership with the inspirational Peckham born writer and philanthropist Kenny Imafidon MBE, author of ‘That Peckham Boy.’
Join us on Wednesday 31st of July, 6-9pm at the Prince of Peckham where there will be:
- Interactive engagement for all to enjoy
- Fireside chat followed by Q&A session with Kenny Imafidon and a number of mentors working within the community
- A reading from ‘That Peckham Boy’
- Free book signing and giveaway
- Tasty refreshments throughout the evening
- Networking opportunities
We first met Kenny when we sponsored the first ever Peckham Hope Hack event in October 2023 with The Damilola Taylor Trust and the Rio Ferdinand Foundation. Since then, we have been working with Kenny to host an event aimed at engaging young people through reading and highlighting the importance of having a mentor.
